Ola Labib's Channel 4 BLAP The Pharmacy launches in March
13 February 2025

Stand-up comedian Ola Labib’s semi-autobiographical Channel 4 Blap The Pharmacy launches on Monday 10th March.
Written by and starring Labib, The Pharmacy delves behind the counter of a local pharmacy as the oddball staff attempt to cure their community one patient at a time.
The ensemble comedy will star Sue Vincent (The Madame Blanc Mysteries, Waterloo Road), Nabil Abdulrashid (QI, Would I Lie To You?), Finlay Christie (So You Think You’re Funny, 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown), Verona Rose (Top Boy, Fully Blown) and Ramey Dawoud (Faisal Goes West, Revolution from Afar).
In The Pharmacy we are introduced to Lola: the beleaguered pharmacist, Margaret: her aggressively efficient right-hand woman, Harry: the up-and-not-so coming wannabe grime artist, and Zein: delivering bad service with a smile. They’re a diverse group of misfits, tempted by the pills they serve, all whilst dealing with high rent, high stress and low pay.
Ola Labib says: "I can't even begin to describe how overwhelmed, excited and emotional I feel about this project. I've always prayed for the day I would reap the rewards of sacrificing almost 14 years of blood, sweat and tears working as a Pharmacist in a time where the NHS is at crisis point. I never dreamt the rewards would be in the form of a commissioned comedy show for Channel 4 - A channel I grew up watching, dreaming that maybe one day, I'd have my own show. Not only am I representing pharmacists and healthcare workers around the country, but I’m also representing women, particularly POC women, and truly showing, in a world that doesn't like to see us succeed - our dreams can become a reality.”
Channel 4’s BLAPS have been the launching pad for many beloved comedy series including Gameface, We Are Lady Parts, Stath Lets Flats, and Disability Benefits.
The Pharmacy will be available to stream on Channel4.com on Monday 10th March and on Channel 4 YouTube from 5pm.
