Panda Television names Head of Development and Editor of Entertainment
5 July 2016
Moira Ross’ new entertainment label Panda Television, part of Objective Media Group, has named Stefan Iriarte as its Head of Development and brought in Ed Booth as Editor of Entertainment.
Chief Creative Officer Ross has appointed a production and development team with stellar entertainment credentials who will focus on moving on from traditional entertainment and look to work with big name talent to bring a fresh, home-grown feel to not just Saturday night TV but across the genre as a whole.
She said, “Ed has earned his BBC One prime-time stripes whilst Stef is a proper ideas man. It’s a big challenge to find an entertainment format that can capture the heart and imagination of the nation the way the likes of The Voice and Strictly Come Dancing have in the past, but I believe we could do just that.”
Ed was series producer on both The Voice and Strictly Come Dancing, as well as working on So You Think You Can Dance and the Andrew Lloyd Webber talent shows, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria, Any Dream Will Do and I’d Do Anything for the channel.
He said, “Having worked with Moira for over 10 years it’s fantastic to be a part of this exciting new chapter. I look forward to joining her and Stefan as Panda TV shapes the future of entertainment programming.”
Stefan who created ITV’s Big Star’s Little Star and Freeze Out as well as BBC’s Pressure Pad, added, “Moira and Ed are two of the most talented producers in television, I’m unbelievably excited to work with them to create the next generation of entertainment shows. I’m confident we’ll be as successful as the Chinese panda breeding program and save television from extinction.”
